Halloween

Halloween with Emily this year was a blast! She seemed to really get into it, well as much as she could at her age. She was all dressed up in her costume when we handed out candy to the kids. Everyone loved her and thought she looked adorable.

Earlier that day, we had our annual chili cook-off at work to raise money for our Christmas Charity. We sponsor a family at Christmas time, and provide a good Christmas for the family by purchasing a dinner and toys and clothes for the family. People form teams and dress up in themes, and therefore are judged on presentation, as well as over all taste of the chili. There are many other categories, but most importantly, this year, one of the teams asked if Emily could be a part of their chili team. Of course! I left a few minutes early and picked her up and dressed her up in her costume. Their theme was Heroes (super heroes) and they were serving chicken chili, so Emily dressed up in her Chicken costume and they tied a cape around her neck that had the superman logo on it. (they were dressed up too) Well, they won third place for presentation!! They gave the trophy to Emily! How cool, she won her first trophy at the age of 5 months old! I can't seem to get those pics to post, though, sorry!
Here's some pics we took at home on Halloween. (Sorry Nana, we got our outfit from you dirty before we could take a pic to post)

All in all it was a great first Halloween with Emily. I can't wait till next year, when she can walk on her own, and really experience everything.

This past Halloween also marks our 2nd year in our house...boy how time flies!
