Emily is sick

Today I am home from work with Emily. She is sick STILL!! I didn't update the other day, but her 4 month check-up was supposed to be on Thursday of last week. We ended up getting in on Wed early because Em just wasn't acting herself. Turns out the cold that she has had for 3 weeks now, started turning into an ear infection. The Dr said that we caught it in time! Thank goodness! Emily is on antibiotics now to treat the infection.

Yesterday, Emily slept all day long! I mean, all day! Poor baby! She only got up to eat and get her diaper changed, and then it was back to bed. Last night, she woke up 3 times just to be held, one time to eat and another because she had kicked her covers off. Other than that, she slept through the night too. She is sleeping again right now. Her temp is ~100.9. I sure hope this breaks soon. They did end up taking a few measurements of Emily while we were there (no shots of course..we go back for those on the 22nd). Her height was 26 1/4 in -still 95th percentile and her weight was 15.4 (they weighed her with her clothes on this time so I don't know how accurate it was, but that put her in the 95th percentile. I think her head circumference was 16 or 17?? which put her in the 75th percentile. Ya, she's a big girl for her age. I have people all the time ask if she's about 8-9 months....?? ya right! Only 4! She is tall!!!

I took this pic of her on Saturday morning before she woke up. Notice that she is sleeping sideways in her crib. She seems to manage to cram herself in the corner all the time! Ya, that's her thumb you see in her mouth...she started that a few weeks ago. We thought it was a whim, or maybe hoped...but she does it when we aren't paying attention....Oh well, choose your battles, right?

By the way, we leave for vacation on Wed...two more days! I guess being home today will give me a chance to pack! i hear Emily awake, I had better go!
