Ash Flat trip

Last weekend we headed to Ash Flat for a quick weekend visit. My brother and some of his friends came down from Kansas City to help Uncle Harry clean up some of the debris from the ice storm at the ranch and also to help mom clean up all the limbs in her yard. It was a nice visit..but too quick if you ask me. Rich went and helped out at the ranch with everyone on Saturday, while me, mom and Emily ran around town. When we arrived at the ranch later that night to visit, there were a lot of sore people limping around! They worked hard!

My brother Jeff got a chance to spend some more time with Emily. This was only the second time he has seen her. He is really good with her and I think he is sad that he has missed seeing her grow up these past few months. We are planning a trip to see him, maybe next month. Emily loves her Uncle Jeff! It is really weird to see my brother with a baby. Why? I don't know. But just as weird as it is, it is also so awesome, because it lets me see how great of a dad he will be someday....hopefully sooner than later! :)

Mom, Emily and Uncle Jeff out at the ranch

Emily also got to see her Great Uncle Harry again!
(This picture was taken last Sunday at my mom's and the next day, Uncle Harry cut his knee open with a chain saw while he was trying to clear debris.) Needless to say, he has been resting this last week with his staples. Much needed rest, I assume.

Grandma and Emily. Emily waves now, on cue. She has been waving for some time now, but even when she just hears Hi or Bye, she starts waving. It is so cute!

So, I mentioned on Sunday we helped clear mom's yard. Emily took a nap, so I too was able to get out there and help. It felt nice to be able to get out in the nice weather.

The crew
Terry Jr. (one of my cousin's from Wisconsin), Phil, Brantley, Uncle Harry, Rich, Kathy, Me and Jeff...looks like Lucky snuck in too!

Here's a shot of Luck by himself cheesin for the camera

and Trigger too!
All in all, it was a fantastic weekend.
Next weekend, we are headed to Texas for the MS walk and to stay with April and her family. We are really looking forward to it.
