So I'm about two weeks late on this post, but what can I say?
After a LATE night and arriving at April's at about 1:00 am I grabbed some zzzs and April and I got up about 6:00 to drive to our walk. We were planning on taking Emily and Avery to the walk with us, but when waking up to blistering cold weather seemed very unappealing to us, we knew for sure that the girls would be miserable. Ya, it was around 30 degrees...snow flurries.....oh, what a great day! I'm not against cold weather, but I don't usually choose to hang out in it for long periods of time just because...needless to say, I wasn't prepared for the cold weather. We faced it like champs, though.
Here is me and April before the walk looking super snazzy!!

After registering, we sat in the car for a while trying to warm back up..when I say
miserable, I mean it. The wind had to have been the worst part...I can still feel it.....
Mid walk...check out how red April's face is. At one point, April had to point out that I had snot dripping off my nose. Ya,
attractive I know. Our faces were so numb, who could feel anything?

Thank goodness! the finish line!

Here we are post walk with our completion certificates. The green feet that we are wearing on our shirts is the name of the person that we were walking for, FYI.
We look kinda funny wearing giant feet on our shirts.

We hope to carry on this tradition of walking together every year until a cure is found. Thank God for fabulous friends!
Hopefully next year it will be warmer and we can make it a family event.
After the walk, we drove back to April's house to warm up and meet up with the rest of our families. The girls had already been up playing and eating breakfast with the dads.
They were so cute playing together. They played really well and shared all the toys.

After everyone got ready, we walked through the
Cabelas in Fort Worth. It is such an amazing store! The guys really enjoyed "playing". They have a tunnel
aquarium there and the girls enjoyed watching the fish. This pic isn't very good, but it shows them just being them together.

We put both girls in a cart later and they had a ball tearing up paper and "talking".

We heard about a place that had great happy hour prices that Chris and April had been to before, so we all ventured out and had a few drinks and about a 100
appetizers! (I'm not kidding) You would have thought that none of us had ever eaten. It was so good! The girls ate really well too and enjoyed listening to the band.

April and I got up and danced a line dance or two and then we brought the girls out to dance with us! They loved the
excitement.

It was sad to have to leave the next morning, but we had other people to visit before we left. We can't wait to go back....do you have our room ready April??
hahaHere's the girls before we left after a long long weekend.
April and I have been friends our entire lives. I hope the same for Emily and Avery. What a great friendship they have to look forward to.
Too bad we don't live closer...

I have a lot more to post about, but I want to spend some time with the family...Here's a quick update on what's been going on...
Emily went to the Ear Nose and Throat Dr last week and they went ahead and scheduled her for ear surgery to put tubes in her ears this week Thursday. They checked her hearing, and thankfully she hasn't lost any yet. Rich and I are both taking off work. The surgery will be around 7:00am. I will update you after it's all done. Please keep Emily in your prayers.
Also....WE HAVE A WALKING BABY!!!!
Emily has been taking steps for the last few weeks, but as of this past Easter weekend at my mom's she started walking all over the place. Today when I picked her up from school, she walked up to me..that was so awesome!
Oh, and she has 6 teeth!
What a big girl!
