The aftermath......Thank you again for all the nice things..she really made a haul with all her clothes and toys! What a lucky girl!
We had a really nice group of people there. Here we all are getting ready to sing happy birthday to Emily
Here's Emily's birthday cake that I made. I had been planning this birthday for months, and I wanted everything to be perfect...but I envisioned this cake to have a whimsical feel to it. Her theme was polka dots and stripes and bright colors. I am pleased at how it all turned out, except for how the icing was melting and running a bit...but, hey, you can't win them all!
The top layer was Emily's and I made a sugar free Apple and Banana cake for her with sugar free Cream cheese and Apple frosting. The other two layers were for everyone else, and they were homemade Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese icing. It was a hit!
I made her 1. I figured, that every princess needs a 1 made out of rhinestones!!
The sparkler candles also help to make it whimsical by adding a bit of flair!
Crazy enough, I don't have a picture of Emily with her cake...bummer
Daddy and Uncle Harry blew out the candles for us...aw, aren't you two so sweet!
And the best part of the whole day....
CAKE TIME!!!
CAKE TIME!!!
She picked it up like a donut
Happy 1st birthday Emily Grace!!!
