Kimberly,one of my really great friends that I know from work,(and Emily's babysitter) called me last night to tell me that her husband was in the hospital, and had had a heart attack. Mark, her husband, is only 26!! He had been having some problems, but attributed it all to his recent diagnosis of a hernia 2 months ago. Saturday, after all the pain he was feeling, pressure in his chest, fatigue, etc, he even played golf and went to a cook-out. Later that night/morning, they went to the ER because the "hernia pain" wasn't letting up. The Dr ordered an EKG, which they thought would come back normal. (They just wanted to rule that out) Well, not only did he have a heart attack, he was still having one. His heart was in full attack for ~24 hours. They did emergency surgery, and found 100% blockage! They were able to put a stint in and he should make a good recovery. Mark is not overweight, doesn't smoke or drink...he's a normal 26 year old guy! You just never know! Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
I can't imagine what they must be going through. Even the thought of losing your husband at such an early age must be making Kimberly sick.
Emily and I went to visit them in the hospital today. Mark looks strong. I am praying for a full recovery.
