Ash Flat 3 weeks ago???

A few weeks ago, we drove to Ash Flat to see my friend Gerri and her family that were visiting from Wisconsin. Her grandfather still lives in that area. They were our good friends when we were young, Gerri and I, Glen and Jeff and Kathy and my mom. I hadn't seen Gerri since Emily was 3 or 4 days old. We had a really nice visit. In fact, it was one of my favorite visits, because we weren't on an agenda per say, just hanging out and taking it easy! My mom had such a ball with Emily this time and they were really able to spend some good quality time together and get to know each other. Emily loves her grandma! My mom also is on new medicine now, so her strength and health is better these days and she was finally able to pick Emily up on her own. That made all the difference I think!

Before they got to Ash Flat (they were staying in Batesville) and while Rich was hauling hay that he got suckered into doing...lol!...(he truly likes helping, don't get me wrong), mom and I hung around the "mall" (Wal-Mart) and wasted some time. She bought Emily a purse, because is really into purses these days.
We grabbed a snack at McDonalds..and Emily made a new friend.

When the Zinks arrived, we went to church and then out to eat. The best place in town is Meachams. YUM! Here is Me, Gerri and Emily sitting in the waiting area.

On the way back to my mom's, Gerri rode with us and had a good ole time hanging out with Emily in the back seat. Here they are watching 101 Dalmatians. Anyone that knows Gerri, knows that she is hysterical, so here's a pic of her imitating Emily...ya, Gerri, you know you were just as excited to see the puppies too! :)

It is amazing to me, that through all the years, miles separating us (after they moved) and everything, I can still call the Zinks friends, and not only that, they are and always will be an extension to our family. Our families are very close and I hope it remains that way forever. It was a good trip. Thanks for squeezing us into your schedule! Until next time...or VEGAS BABY!!!
