Emily's 2 month check-up

Today, was Emily's 2 month check-up with her pediatrician. Everything went great until shot time...that was not so good! It broke our hearts!!! First they gave her her rota virus vaccine, which comes in an oral form-a sweet liquid. She was not happy about that, and started to whimper a bit and then came the shots...three of them. One was a combination shot with a couple of different vaccines. The poor baby just started wailing. Emily is not really a crier and we really don't hear her cry that often, so we weren't prepared at all for those big alligator tears! After a few minutes, we were able to settle her down and actually were able to stir up a smile. Thank goodness, I think we all needed that! And no, I didn't cry too. I know what you are all thinking. :)I took some pics after we got home so you all can see her battle scars! (her bandades have a circus theme, just in case you were wondering..I was!)

There are two on the right leg and one on the left.
She raised her dress so you can see the one on the left..so cooperative! :)

Here are a few pics that I took a few days ago. This was the first time that she had grabbed a hold of something and kept a hold of it for a long time. She took that rattle and just sat there and shook it. Again I say, she's becoming such a big girl!
This is her audience! The girl loves to entertain!
Oh I forgot the best part of the whole Dr visit, her stats!! Might I also mention, that Dr Gregory said that she is holding her head up exceptionally well for a baby her age. She thinks she will be turning over very soon. She also lead on to the fact, that she is advanced and may be running a bit ahead of other babies! We have a smart one on our hands!
Okay, her head was 15 1/2 in-50th percentile
weight was 10.10-50th percentile
length was 24 1/4 in-95th percentile!!!
ya, she's a tall one! She said that she is very tall and skinny! She figures she will be around 5'9"-5'10" when she gets older. Of course daddy is beside himself and so excited about his "student athlete". The doctor mentioned, that since she is growing so fast and so much, that we might want to consider introducing some rice cereal already (not usually until 4 months). We may try it this weekend, and see how she handles it. For now, I am monitoring her for a fever and I have the Tylenol handy and ready to go. She is napping now. I guess the shots wore her out. Oh, I forgot to mention, that at two years old, you double their height and that is a good determination of how tall they will be. So we will see soon enough!
This is our anniversary weekend. Monday is our actual anniversary. We are planning to get a baby sitter for a few hours on sat so we can go to the movies. I will let you all know how that goes. (this will be the first time with a sitter..my friend Kimberly has been dying to keep her. This is our trial run).
(I almost forgot...my friend Jenny had her baby yesterday. She was induced. I have been promised pics when she gets home. So for those of you that have been asking about her, there is your update. Be checking her blog for pics soon if you were curious)
Welcome BABY ADDYSON!!!
Have a great weekend!!
